"I found Vera at a local shelter called Wayside Waifs in Kansas City, Missouri. I was volunteering there and watching for a permanant relationship with the perfect dog when I saw her. She was about a year to a year and a half old and was born deaf."

Because her tail is docked short, her whole body wiggles when she sees those she loves!" "Vera is quick to learn and responds to our consistent lifestyle. Our commands are mostly hand signals that I have used to teach her to sit, stay and lie down. She loves fetching a ball or a toy or bone. Often times I hear her galloping through the house tossing her toy herself for her to catch and grab. And oh does she run! She can zip through a back yard in nothing flat! She will literally run circles for many laps just to turn on the speed - and is grinning the whole time!"
"Vera definatly knows the NO command which is me shaking my pointer finger at her. This is used when she is trembling to chase a cat or squirrel or when she wants to be involved in an activity she is not included in, such as this racetrack photo." ________________________________________
