High Exercise Demand
Energetic Dogs

This is a list of breeds that are considered to have a very high demand for exercise. You should not choose one of these breeds unless you have the time and space to properly accommodate their exercise needs. These high energy dogs are going to need more vigorous exercise than some other less energetic breeds. Throwing a ball, or letting your dog run free at a dog park for exercise is great, but it still does not fulfill the dogs need for a walk. Taking your dog for a walk is very important for any dog in order to keep their minds balanced. Therefore, in addition to other exercise outlets, they need to be taken for a daily walk, jog, running beside a bike or roller blading, where they are made to heel beside or behind the person holding the lead, never in front as instinct tells a dog the leader leads the way and that leader needs to be the human. If you are not a high energy family do not choose one of these high energy breeds. Dogs who do not receive enough exercise can develop behavior issues.
