Highland Maltie Highland Maltie Maltese / West Highland White Terrier Hybrid Dogs The Highland Maltie is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Maltese and the West Highland White Terrier (Westie). The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses. Recognized Names:
"This is Cali; otherwise known as Cali Jo and Boo Boo. Cali is a female West Highland White Terrier/Maltese mix. She has the Maltese coat and petite features, but has the ears, energy and curiosity of a “Westie”. She goes on walks and exerts a fair amount of energy playing with her best friend, Ace (a Black Lab mix). Cali is 18 months old and weighs 10 pounds in this picture. She has always slept with her human mommy; usually under the covers."
