Rescue a Papastzu Papastzu
Papillon / Shih Tzu
Hybrid Dogs The Papastzu, also called Papi Tzu, is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Papillon and the Shih Tzu. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses. Recognized Names: Lulu, the Papastzu (Papillon / Shih Tzu hybrid) at 1 year old.
Pressley, the Papi Tzu. She is the ½ Shih Tzu and ½ Papillon. Her owner states, "She is just a joy!" In this pic she is 8½ weeks old, and weighs 1.8 pounds. ______________________________________________
"Toast, the Papi Tzu puppy at 3 months old. He is a Papillon Shih Tzu mix." ______________________________________________
"Gumbo the Papi Tzu puppy at 3 months old. At 6 moths he weighed 4.5 lbs. He is a bundle of joy. He doesn’t bark much at all and is very lovable. He can jump like a Papillion, but has the shorter legs of a Shih-Tzu. Everyone that sees him always asks me what type of dog he is because he’s soo cute. I love my little Gumbo."
"Brutus and Maximus, my two Papi-tzus. Maximus is a Papillon-Shih tzu mix, and Brutus is a miniature Papillon-Shih tzu mix. This picture is of Brutus at 4 months and Maximus at 1 year. They are adorable, sweet little boys. Maximus likes to chew socks and loves to look out the window. Brutus likes to follow Max around and do everything his big brother does." ______________________________________________ "Betsy is a Shih Tzu crossed with a Papillon. Her mother is the Shih and her father is the Pap. She is shown here at about 6 months old, and is an absolutely wonderful dog. She is obedient, gentle, sweet, happy, energetic, but most of all loving. Betsy from day one has been as good as gold. She was house trained within the first few days. She has never chewed anything forbidden and if when she was really little she took what was not allowed, the minute you saw her she would drop it!! We have had Betsy now for nearly 4 months and she has not once growled !! The most placid dog I know." Betsy the Shih Tzu / Papillon hybrid as a 2 month old puppy. ______________________________________________
"This is Luci, my 6-year-old Shih-Tzu/Papillon hybrid. Luci is a wonderful dog, with one exception: In the house, she is extremely yappy, alerting to every possible sound. Other than that, she loves everybody and everybody loves her. She loves to go for long walks and is learning to be around other dogs, though she'd much prefer to be in someone's lap." ______________________________________________
