Rescue a Pugapoo
Pugapoo Pug / Poodle Hybrid Dogs The Pugapoo is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Pug and the Poodle. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses. Recognized Names: Maggie, the Pugapoo at two years old. "Her mother was purebred Pug; her father a purebred Mini Poodle. "Maggie" retains the Poodle coat and needs constant grooming, but otherwise is a perfect doll and loves people, especially children."

Jasmine, the Pug-a-Poo at 1 year old. Her mom was a purebred Pug and dad was a purebred Poodle. She has a wonderful personality, was easy to train and is very loveable. She likes to sleep under the blankets like a human. "She does shed a little bit, like a pug does. She definitely does not have the poodle fur at all. Jasmine's fur can been seen on the couch, carpet and on our shirts when we hold her but it's fine small hairs that we see, not big clumps like some dogs would leave behind. Her tail is curled like a pugs." ____________________________
Litter of Pug-A-Poo Puppies Their mom was a purebred Pug and dad was a purebred Poodle. Notice how some of the puppies have poodle type coats (which will not shed) and some have Pug type coats (which may or may not shed). The pups with the Poodle coats you will have to take to the groomers and get clipped. The pups with the Pug coats may stay short and you may not have to get them clipped. However this will not be certain until the pup grows up.

Update: This is a picture of Rosco, one of the Pug looking pups shown above all grown up, at about a year old. His owners state, "He is very unique. He doesn't have to be groomed, but when he is, his hair is vastly different. It is softer, lighter and doesn't shed."
Jax the Pug-a-Poo puppy at 3 months old. He is part Pug and part Toy Poodle. ___________________________
