Shollie

German Shepherd / Collie Hybrid Dogs

 

The Shollie is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the German Shepherd and the Collie. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

"This is Bogie my German Shepherd/Collie cross. He was rescued at 8 weeks old. He is a very comical and fun loving dog. He will chase almost anything that moves and dive into the snow as if he were made for it. He loves to try and "fetch" snowballs even though he cant find them."

"He is a VERY energetic dog and needs lots of exercise so he gets 1 long walk a day and a doggie play date later on. As for training he can get bored easily and keeping him focused on anything for long time is a challenge, as he also needs lots of mental exercise; but if you can keep him interested he will do anything to please you."

"He lives with our family which includes our 11 year old mini Dachshund. His best doggie friend is Snickers a chocolate Lab down the road. They can play all day long and be exhausted but still want more."

He is a very loveable dog and always wants to be close to his people. He is a invaluable part of our family that could never be replaced; we truly love our "Clarence Puppy".
