Hybrid Dogs
The Silkchon is not a
purebred dog. It is a cross between the Bichon Frise
and the Silky Terrier. The best way to determine the temperament of
a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any
combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs
being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to
breed multi-generation crosses.
Zoey, the Silkchon, which is a hybrid
of Silky Terrier and Bichon Frise, at 10 months old. "She has a wonderful
temperament much like a Bichon. Her hair is very soft and straight. Her tail
is short as well as her legs and her body is the average length of a Bichon.
She is very willing to please and easy to train. She likes to dig holes."
