Rescue a
Sheltidoodle Sheltidoodle Shetland Sheepdog / Poodle Hybrid Dogs
The Sheltidoodle is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Sheltie and the Poodle. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses. Recognized Names:
King, a silver Sheltidoodle at 1½ years old, "He is just a sweetheart. He is completely gray now and weighs about 30lbs. I would consider him low shedding." - Bred by C and S Ranch.
Sheltidoodle (Shetland Sheepdog / Poodle Hybrid) at 6 months old - Bred by C and S Ranch - "The size of the Sheltiedoodle depends on what sized parents are used. This puppy matured at about 35 lbs. Puppy buyers are reporting most of them to be low to non shedding. And their temperaments are very sweet and cuddly. At least that has been our experience with the older puppies that have hung around for any length of time. I am sure that the temperaments of the parent dogs do play a big role in the mix. These dogs are typically not hyper or wild but more calm natured. Great "easy going" dogs. Here is one report from one of our first litters... "He is just a sweetheart. He is completely gray now and weighs about 30lbs. I would consider him low shedding."
"Bilbo my Sheltiedoodle at 2 years old. The mother was Sheltie and the father was a Poodle."

Lila, the Sheltidoodle (Shetland Sheepdog/ Poodle hybrid) puppy. Her owner states, "Lila is a six-week-old Sheltie Doodle. We just purchased her and are having a blast playing and training. She appears to be extremely smart and very good at out smarting me already. Boy will I be in for it when she hits her adolescence." ___________________________________________

"Marley is a blue merle Sheltidoodle who is very affectionate, loyal, and loving. He is extremely intelligent and likes to “herd” my son, as well as other kids around the neighborhood. He loves to hear himself bark, is always alert, and makes an excellent watchdog. He is now 2 years old and weighs close to 30 lbs with a full coat of soft, fluffy fur. He thinks he’s the biggest dog on the block, but he’s really a “Mama’s boy” at heart! Marley is 1 ½ years old in this picture. He looks almost identical to a Sheltie, except for his poodle-like nose and soft, minimal-shedding fur." Marley the Sheltidoodle at 6 months old.
