Information and Pictures

A tricolor, thick-coated, longhaired tan, white and black dog laying down on a kitchen floor

"Elvis is a Border Collie / Collie mix breed dog shown here at 8 years old. He is very well behaved and loves to play fetch and chase our puppy, Nala who is a 3 month old Australian Shepherd / Rottweiler mix puppy. If you tell Elvis to "get the squirrel" he runs to the nearest tree and jumps up it trying to climb to the usually non-existent squirrel."

Other Names
  • Rough Borollie
  • Smooth Borollie
Description

The Borollie is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Border Collie and the Collie (Rough or Smooth varieties). The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
