Galapagos Tortoise

Male Galapagos tortoises weigh about 500 pounds; females are about 250 pounds. They live to be about 100 years old. The oldest known tortoise was brought to Australia by naturalist Charles Darwin and is now over 160 years old. The Galapagos tortoise relies on the sun to heat its body.
