Information and Pictures

Toby the Bostie (Boston Terrier / West Highland White Terrier mix) at 3 years old—"Great rodent hunter, tenacious, curious, energetic lap dog, and loves children. Would do well in a small yard as well as a large yard. Loves being a lap dog but also enjoys running around the yard. Prefers to stay close by unless in the middle of chasing something. My Boston / Westie is rather obedient but when "hunting" there is no stopping him. I cannot trust him off-leash because if he sees a chipmunk he will disappear."

Other Names
  • Bostie Terrier
  • Boston Westie
Description

The Bostie is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Boston Terrier and the Westie. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

Toby the Bostie (Boston Terrier / West Highland White Terrier mix) at 3 years old—"Very loving dog, will follow me throughout the house and yard, extremely agile. I have come outside to find Toby sitting on the very top of my truck or running along the top sides of the pickup bed; also loves standing in the birdbath. Has wire hair that does require trimming twice a year. Very glad I got this dog. I can take him for a ride in the car, long walk around the neighborhood, or just sit in the back of my truck and he is just as happy as long as he is with me."

Angie the Bostie (Boston Terrier / West Highland White Terrier mix) at 2 years old—"I am a rescue dog who is extremely active. I love kids and am very lovable (I love strangers, too). I need to run daily. I will lick everyone to death but will growl loudly and I am told I sound like a German Shepherd when I bark. I'm the perfect watch dog, but my threats are idle. I love to watch TV. I shed a lot, but have a shiny coat. I am also quite the cuddler and love my family even though I was abused in the past."
