Schipperke / Chihuahua Mixed Breed Dogs

Information and Pictures

A small short haired black dog with brown mixed in, wide round brown eyes, a black nose and large prick ears wearing a blue collar sitting down inside of a house

"This is Callie, our 4 month old Schipperke-Chihuahua mix puppy. We call her a Schipper-huahua! She is about 7 pounds and full of energy. She loves to think she is a big dog! She is feisty and always into something! Her best friend is a Pitador. She loves to run, take rides in the car, have her belly rubbed, and just be part of whatever is going on! She hates to be left out of anything. Her one bad habit is she thinks everything is hers, whether someone else or one of our other 3 dogs had the toy or chew bone first. She likes to be outside in our fenced in yard. Her energy level is high, so she requires frequent stimulating exercise during the day. She is a well adjusted dog and fits in well with our other dogs and cats. She loves to play with the other animals and us too, but when she's ready for bed, she is as lazy as one gets. Callie is the perfect little dog with a big dog attitude!!"

Description

The Schipper-Chi is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Chihuahua and the Schipperke. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
