Basset Hound / Shar-Pei Mixed Breed Dogs

"Pucci is a 5 year old Shar-Pei / Basset Hound mix that we rescued as a 15 week old puppy. He is very loving and he definitely has a hound personality. He loves to sleep and nothing can get him out of bed! He can be quite stubborn, also like a hound. He loves to play with other dogs and never meets a stranger - human or K9. He can get into trouble but is smart when he wants to be. He has some allergies (like both breeds) but by sticking to allergy formula foods he does not have any major problems other than occasional itching. Everyone he meets wants to know what he is and says he is the most unusual dog they've ever seen. He is now about 50 lbs, and like the other puppies on the page he eventually grew into his head, which was almost as big as the rest of his body when he was a puppy. I would not take anything in the world for him! I consider him a couture (1 of a kind) dog."

"Two owners with four Shar-Pei / Bassets: Jamey (human), Angus (5), Abby (5), Bella (2), Buddy (7), and Tom (another human!). You can just see Angus's blue tongue. To take this photo was akin to herding cats—everyone wanted to look in different directions at once!"

Bailey the Ba-shar mix breed dog at 2 years old, weighing 35 pounds—"It looks like she’s staying that size. Every time we go to the dog park at least 3 people ask me what kind of dog she is. She’s affectionate, curious, and loves to chase dogs chasing tennis balls. I can’t convince her to chase her own tennis ball but she loves chasing other dogs. It took a while but she’s finally grown into her body and a little into her head.""
