Information and Pictures

Close Up - Eight week old Basselier sitting on floor

"These are my Cavalier x Basset pups at age 8 weeks. They look like Bassets but have the nature of the Cavalier, enjoying all the attention they can get. They enjoy being outdoors, playing like their dad who is a purebred pedigree Basset and love being indoors also, like their mum who is a purebred pedigree Cavalier King Charles. They are very friendly with people and enjoy playing with children." Photo courtesy of Haydaysview Kennels

Cavalier Basset

Description

The Basselier is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Basset Hound. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
