Otis the American Bulldog x Shar Pei mix as a puppy at 4 months old—"Named after Otis Reading, our dog Otis is very playful and great with kids. He just wants to play all day, but as soon as he lays down his eyes shut and he falls asleep until he wakes up. He is good with other dogs, but likes to try and dominate a little to much."
The American Bull Pei is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the American Bulldog and the Shar-Pei The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

Bitty the American Bulldog / Shar Pei mix (American Bull Pei) at 7 years old—"Bitty is our pride and joy. She is not weary of strangers, but she will bark to let us know when a stranger is around. She adores children and will give them endless "kisses". She gets along with puppies, senior dogs, and small dogs, but does not get along very well with strange adult female dogs, strange "teen" dogs, or other strange large dogs. She does get along with cats, but does not with other small animals. Bitty's favorite past time is playing with our other dogs, and going on long walks. She is not hyper and has a sweet, loving temperament with people. Bitty's mother is a Shar-Pei and her father is an American Bulldog."
