"Kiah was adopted from a shelter. She is a Catahoula Leopard / Australian Shepherd mix. I've shortened it to Ausahoula. She's only about 7 months old and very playful. She already stands as tall as her sister (Maddox), but she hasn't filled out yet, and she has massive paws! Personality-wise, we're still getting to know each other, but she is as goofy as they come. Kiah is very intelligent! She learned her new name in only a day, and she learned to sit quickly, too. Her attention span is short though, and before you know it she's off to find something to chew on."
The Ausahoula is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Australian Shepherd and the Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
