Other Names
  • Belerian Malsky
Description

The Belusky is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Belgian Malinois and the Siberian Husky. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

Xena the Belgian Malinois / Siberian Husky mix puppy at 12 weeks old—"Hi, my name is Xena. I'm a Belusky or Belerian Malsky (Siberian Husky / Belgian Malinois). My dad sometimes calls me "Xena Kat Dog" since I enjoy climbing onto the counters and the back of the couch like the cats do. I originally was thought to be a Shepsky, but my mom and dad had their suspicions that I had Malinois because my black mask (dad used to be a military working dog handler so they have seen a lot of them). But they would love me even if I was part cat. But they (well, my dad mostly) got really excited when he heard my mom is a papered Malinois, making me a mix of his two favorite breeds! I'm very intelligent and learn quickly, have a lot of energy, love children (I've learned that the babies require me to be a bit more calm), I'm awesome with cats though they sometimes get a little freaked out when I want to chase them or paw at them, I love other dogs though I am a little too much for some (I wear out Border Collies), and I enjoy other people but I absolutely love my family the most. My family is very experienced however with my breeds and other challenging canines, which has helped shape what could be destructive behaviors into more favorable behavior (learning to share toys and food). One day I hope to be my dad's service dog and/or his partner at work, as well as being a very loved member of our growing family."
