Pomimo
(Eskipom) (Eskiranian)

American Eskimo / Pomeranian Hybrid Dogs

The Pomimo is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the American Eskimo and the Pomeranian. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

"Tawni is my Pomimo, shown here at 2 years old. She's easily the smartest and fastest dog I've ever had. She likes to sing along whenever we watch American Idol, and she likes to sleep on your lap. Tawni was very easy to housebreak and crate train. She'll go into her cage at night for bed without you asking her to."

Sandie the Pomimo at 1 year old.

"This is our Pomimo named Sandie, and although she was a little scraggly looking when we found her as a puppy at the Humane Society, she has turned in to a fantastic, cute dog. We don't know if she was meant to be a "designer dog" or she was an accident, but we have never met another Pomimo. So we were excited to see other Pomimos on your site and know she is not alone! Sandie has the color of a light Pom, but the body of an Eskie. She is about 18 pounds and is intelligent, affectionate and independent."

Pushkin the Pomeranian / American Eskimo mix—"This is a picture of our dog Pushkin, who passed away. He was a super, wonderful dog. Great temperament. He was often mistaken for a puppy throughout his life. He averaged about 18 lbs. Well behaved, extremely tolerant of children even when they did things that probably annoyed him. Extremely social, loved to be around people. Liked to eat carrots. He would often spend 3-4 minutes "making his bed" adjusting blankets and towels to get it just right."

"This is our pet Gizmo. He is a Pomeranian / American Eskimo mix shown here at 5 years old. He was born on Christmas Eve. He is very talkative and has an "I am the king" attitude. But this king loves to roll around in the mud digging for worms. YUCK!!!! It is not a pretty smell."

Marley at 3 years old weighing 17 pounds kayaking.

"Meet Marley, a 17-pound Pomimo at 3 years old. Truly me and my wife's best friend. He gives us a reason to live, love and enjoy life. We give him love and a warm home and warm laps. His favorite things to do are rollerblading, hiking, swimming, kayaking or just playing. He loves to swim all year; he has ruined a few good winter walks by getting in the water. He also loves to play with his kitty buddy Mucha. Very good watchdog. True to Eski nature he loves to bark. Obedient, eager to please, easy to housebreak and train. All my family and friends regret not getting one of his sisters or brothers. He really is the sweetest, coolest dog anyone ever met."

"Marley at 3 years old, weighing 17 pounds kayaking—his mom was a Pomeranian and dad was an American Eskimo Spitz. He's the nicest, sweetest creature God ever created and has never met an animal that didn't like him, even pets with other dog or small dog issues."

"Foxxy the 3/4 Pomeranian and 1/4 miniature American Eskimo hybrid (Pomimo) as a 4–month-old puppy, weighing about 4 pounds—she has a high energy level, but gets enough exercise going for walks, chasing the cat and playing fetch. She is still a pup and not quite used to the whole leash thing yet."

Foxxy the Pomimo puppy at 4 months old, weighing 4 pounds—"She was a little temperamental potty training, but loves to learn tricks and is a quick study. Learned to sit after only 2 nights of 10-minute sessions each. Foxxy learned to fetch and drop it all by herself. When she realized she wasn't dropping her ball close enough for me to pick it up, she would pick it back up and drop it again closer."

Foxxy the Pomimo puppy at 4 months old, weighing 4 pounds—"She is a puppy and likes to chew paper—anything and everything paper from toilet paper rolls to paper towels to magazines. She will shred it all. She also likes to get in under our bed and pull at the lining of the bottom of our box spring (the cat hides in there)."
