Rescue a Saint Dane Saint Dane Saint Bernard / Great Dane Hybrid Dogs The Saint Dane is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Saint Bernard and the Great Dane. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses. "Lucas, the Great Dane / Saint Bernard Hybrid puppy at 4 months old. His mother is a purebred St. Bernard and the father is a pure bred harlequin great dane. They were being advertised as Great Saints and were bred intentionally. At 5 months he weighed over 70 pounds. He is very good natured, good with children, cats and other dogs. He likes to sit on your feet and lap, and loves sleeping on furniture! He can be afraid of strangers and does bark at them, but he welcomes people he knows. He is trusted to sleep outside of his crate at night and has since he was 4 months old. So far he has been a relatively easy dog to raise and train." _______________________________________
