This is a vintage Goebel chocolate Labrador Retriever dog engraved with the series mark CH 616 and the year 1968—the date indicates the year the mold was made. It is the logo that is the determining factor of the time period the actual piece was made. It has the Goebel mark of the bee inside of the V right next to the words W. Germany. Above that is a w. with the word Goebel. The "G" in Goebel is written in a fancy font. This mark is what collectors call the trademark 4 (TMK-4). The mark was used between 1962 and 1971. Since the mold was made in 1968 we know this figurine was made between 1968 and 1971. This Lab is stunning and in excellent condition with no crazing, chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. Nice soft eyes and a black nose. This beautiful Labrador is in a show stance pose. It is 6 inches tall, 9 inches long and 2 inches wide.

Pictured is another stamp from the same type of vintage Goebel chocolate Labrador Retriever dog as shown above. The dog itself looks the same, however the Goebel logo stamp looks a little different. Both are stamped 1968 (indicating the date the mold was made), but the symbol on this one is of the name Goebel with the bee inside of the V above the 'bel' in Goebel with W. Germany below it. It is the logo that is the determining factor of the time period the actual piece was made. The logo this dog has is what collectors call the trademark 5 (TMK-5). It sets the date it was made between 1972 and 1978. It is also engraved with the series mark CH 616. This one also has the original Goebel sticker on it shown below.
