Caesar the Dachsweiler (Dachshund / Rottweiler mix at 1 1/2 years old from India—"My Caesar is a very intelligent dog. He can track things as well as be a gaurd dog. He is a very obedient boy. His father is a Dachshund and his mother is a Rottweiler. He is 2 meters long and has a heavy bone structure."
The Dachsweiler is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Dachshund and the Rottweiler. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer mix breed dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

"These are our Rottweiler / Dachshund mixes. Yes, we know for sure that that is what they are; we got them from a friend of ours who had an accident. She did not mean to get this mix but here we are! This is not a mix I would recommend to anyone, though!! They have a bad problem with their joints, backs, legs and feet. Our dogs are in pain quite a bit, but the vet keeps a close eye on them."
"Boo the Rottie / Dachshund mix breed (Rotten Weenie). He is Frodo's brother (shown below), weighing in at 75 lbs. As for personalities, they are the sweetest dogs anyone could have. Of course they think they are lap dogs, they have the bark of a Rottie and the shortness of the Doxie! They are great with my kids and the rest of our animals, too."
