Charlie the Jackweiler, a mix of a Jack Russell and Rottweiler at 1 year old—"This is Charlie. He is a very affectionate dog and very energetic. I have two children and Charlie is fantastic with them. He loves rough and tumble play when it suits and loves nothing better than a good cuddle and giving kisses. His bad habits are chewing and always tries to steal things out of your hand. He enjoys fetch, showers and climbing trees but hates the vacuum cleaner. He is a wonderful dog and we are so happy to have him in our family."
The Jackweiler is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Jack Russell Terrier and the Rottweiler. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

"Bacon is a cross between a Jack Russell and a Rottweiler. I know this is her correct mix, as far-fetched as it may sound; her parents are owned by a close friend. The father is a purebred papered Jack Russell and the mother is a purebred Rottweiler, though of unrecorded lineage. My husband and I have been referring to her as a Jackweiler."Shown here at 2½ years old
