Description

The Peke-A-Tese is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Pekingese and the Maltese. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

"Maddie Grace is a 1-year-old Peketese (Maltese/Pekingese mix). She weighs 17.5 pounds. Her mother was a Pekingese, her father was Maltese. I took this photo at our annual Christmas gathering. Maddie is very sweet and loving. She whimpers when we come home and she’s been home alone. She loves to play and go on adventures with her family but she’s quiet in the house and not a barker. She loves to perch on high places where she can look out the windows. She was very easy to house-break and minds very well in all aspects except “come”. Catch-me-if-you-can is her favorite game so we usually keep her on a leash when we’re outside. She’s a bit timid around strangers but warms up quickly when properly introduced. She loves to play with other dogs and cats are her best friends."
