Description

The Havamalt is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Havanese and the Maltese. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

Phelony my sweet little Havamalt on the day she came home, 10 weeks old—"I spent a lot of time researching specific hybrid dog breeds, looking for my perfect puppy characteristics for me and my lifestyle. I wanted a small, hypoallergenic female, black and white (black mask across the eyes mandatory, as I had chosen her name in advance, Phelony!), social, good around kids, very healthy with a long life span. I found a breeder, checked references and gave them my list of features my new puppy had to have! They had a 6 week old litter at that time, and there was a little female with black & white markings! So I visited and fell instantly in Love with that sweet, tiny puppy! I had found my Phelony! Painfully, I waited another 4 weeks, made sure she was thoroughly checked out health wise and brought her home when she was 10 weeks old. What a wonderful day! I immediately set about socializing her to all types of people and other dogs. I have 4 grandchildren so it was very important to me that she wouldn't be one of those snippy dogs! Phelony absolutely adores riding in the car! You should see her when I pull out my keys! Although she is very social, she is definitely my dog and I am her person! She always runs over to check in with me when we are out and about! And at bedtime, she is my cuddle buddy! Spoiled beyond belief? Well, yes! But what this little dog gives back to me is so precious, I can't imagine life now without my little Phelony! My Wonder Dog!"
