Blondie was rescued from a kill shelter. His new owners were curious to see what breeds were in his genetic make-up, so they got a DNA test done. The test went back 3 ancestral generations, looking back to Blondie's great grandparents. The results came back that one of Blondie's parents was a purebred Rat Terrier and the other was a half American Foxhound half mixed breed in the terrier group. The portion of the DNA test that was deemed a mixed breed was predicted to be mixed beyond the three generations that were tested for, but they were able to determine it was from the terrier group. That makes Blondie a half Rat Terrier, a quarter American Foxhound and a quarter unknown terrier mix.
This is Blondie getting his DNA test done. The kit came with two bristle swabs and a box with a shipping label. The instructions said to rub the swab between the dog's lip and gums collecting it's saliva. You then let the swabs dry for a few minutes before packing them back into the sleave they came in. Then you put the sleave into the postage paid box that came with the kit and drop it into the snail mail. In a few weeks the results of the test came back saying what type of dog Blondie was.
Blondie has very mobile ears, moving them perked out to the sides, bent over or pinned back.

If Blondie's owner howls at him, he will howl back, sounding like the bay of a hunting dog only with a toy dog voice. A trait me must have picked up from the Foxhound in him.

When Blondie sees someting he wants he will often stand up on his hind legs.
